Where to Find...
How to Kill or Get Rid of Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are (bloodsucking) insects that feed on humans and other warm blooded mammals. The current wave of bed bug infestations across America has caused great concern in bed bug prevention, eradication, reported sightings, and overall education about this human pest. Let Bed Bug Detection Remediation Services of South Carolina get rid of these pests for you.

As more students will travel and study internationally the risk for bedbug infestations will also increase. Bed bugs have been found in hotels, motels, hospitals, movie theaters, long term care facilities, thrift stores, flea markets, schools (colleges and universities), and vacation homes.

In a recent study of early infestations, bed bugs were found to be on the actual bed and frames approximately 70% of the time while approximately 23% of bed bugs moved away from the bed into nearby dressers, side tables, curtains, that were still within 5 feet of the bed, and 7% of bed bugs moved beyond five feet of the bed into items such as entertainment centers and dressers. Since most bed bugs stay on or near your bed it is so IMPORTANT that you not start sleeping on your couch, recliner, or other room as the pest will just set up in these areas and make the tasks of removing them that much harder. (I know you will be tempted to get the heck out of that room and sleep somewhere else,  if you are so freaked out that you must sleep somewhere else go sleep on your porch, balcony, a hammock, or a throw-away tent and don’t forget the mosquito spray.).

We service Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Columbia and Hilton Head SC and neighboring cities.

Our Services

Bed Bugs Option 1

Known bed bug infestation. Bed Bug Detection & Remediation Services of South Carolina prefers to rid your home, business or hotel of bed bugs through the use of high Thermal Heat. For complete details of the high thermal heat (organic treatment) process, click here. Thermal heat can completely rid your business or dwelling of these pesky bed bugs. We will provide you with instructions on how to mitigate the return of bed bugs when we complete our initial heat process. Thirty days after our initial heat treatment, we will return for an inspection. If necessary, we will re-perform the thermal heat process (one time only). The post inspection and re-heat process (if necessary) is performed at no additional cost to you.

Bed Bugs Option 2

Suspected bed bug infestation. We recommend using our bed bug detection dog (see below) to determine/verify bed bug infestation, or you may elect to use another company for treatment. If bed bugs are discovered, then we will be happy to treat your business or dwelling as outlined in Option 1 above.

Our Bed Bug Detection Dog

Woody is our bed bug detection dog. Woody has been certified by the IBBMA to hunt out live eggs and live bed bugs. He continues to maintain his certification by attending annual training sessions where she must be tested to ensure that he maintains his certification. Woody will not hit on any smell other than bedbugs...and he loves her job!

The use of a certified bed bug dog that is trained to sniff out live bed bugs and live eggs are approximately 94% accurate with a professional handler. Scarlet has been certified by the IBBMA to hunt out live eggs and live bed bugs.

Not sure what to do?

Give us a call and set up an appointment to have Woody come by and have a sniff. Both Woody and our handler will arrive in a discrete manner. There will be nothing that identifies the handler or Woody as bed bug detectors. In addition, all results are kept in the strictest confidence and only information that needs to be shared with either our staff or the company that you hire to eradicate them will be shared. You should know that once Woody has marked an item or bed as having a bedbug, the handler will search the item to try and find the bedbug and if able to be found will collect the bug(s) as proof that there has not been a false positive result. This will also give you a chance to look at the bedbug and understand what you are dealing with.
